Global Need's Global Cover begins Haiti Rebuild Effort PDF Print E-mail

Global Need's “Global Cover” has begun the process of addressing the long term need in Haiti- rebuilding housing. Incorporating the concept of the Structural Insulated Panel (SIP), Global Need's "Global Cover" plans on building a SIP manufacturing facilty in Haiti.

This will do more than just provide housing, it will provide much-needed jobs. Haitian citizens will be trained and certified in the SIP Construction process.

Raleigh, N.C., September 2, 2009 – Production Media Inc. (PMI), publisher of Church Production and Worship Facilities magazines, announces its partnership with Global Need, a non-profit organization responsible for global stewardship of the earth’s resources and the needs of its people. Global Need, now in its third year of operation, was founded by house-of-worship A/V designer and consultant Armando Fullwood, principal of Design 2020 based in Harrisburg, N.C, Other partners and sponsors include Rack and Roll, Neal Prince Architects, Matthew Martin Design Works, In The Image and WAVE.

As part of its media partnership with Global Need, PMI is hosting Global Need’s Globalneed Coffee and Globalneed Café—GlobalNeed’s new faith-based initiatives—at WFX, Worship Facilities Conference & Expo in Charlotte, N.C., on Oct. 27-30, 2009.

Globalneed Coffee and Globalneed Café will offer churches a way to funnel their coffee- and café-giving initiatives into various areas of seven main Global Need initiatives of their choice. The seven include Global H20; Global Mobile (safe and reliable transportation); Global Cover (shelter); Global Wear (clothing); Global Reach (communication); Global Grow (food); and Global Now (humanitarian aid during times of disaster).

According to Fullwood, participating churches can align their purpose and passion with the network set up by Global Need to strengthen the effectiveness of both. “Churches and individuals are the cup, and our organization is the fluid to help fill the needs they are most passionate about,” he says.
